Definition Vinsol AE™ resin is a dark, high molecular weight resin. This product has been formulated under U.S. Patents 5,656,733; 5,683,497, and 5,702,521 to match the chemical properties and the aliphatic hydrocarbon insolubility of Vinsol® resin. Based on these properties, Vinsol AE™ resin will be useful in a wide range of industrial applications, where Vinsol resin is used today.
Application The versatility of Vinsol AE™ resin, neat, or in soap or solution form, makes it effective in a broad range of applications, including: Adhesives, Asphalt emulsions, Inks, Primer and Surface Coatings, Paperboard and composition board, Foundry molds and core washes, Plastics, Rubber, Shoes, Phenolic resin modification, Cement (as air entraining agents), Electrical insulation, Floor coverings.

Compatible in solution with a wide range of plasticizers, natural and synthetic resins, cellulose derived film formers, and synthetic polymers having polar groups. Essentially incompatible with nonpolar materials such as petroleum hydrocarbon waxes and oils, and with certain plant and animal derived oils, fats and waxes.

Soluble in most oxygen containing solvents such as alcohols, esters, ethers, ketones, and phenols. Also soluble in chlorinated and aromatic hydrocarbons, but essentially insoluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons.

 

Packaging & Handling

Material is available pulverized in multi-wall paper bags (50 lbs, 22.7 kg net wt).

It is strongly recommended that strict control of inventory be observed at all times, taking care that the oldest material is used first.
